Aaron Askanase is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts where he created his own independent major in Storytelling. His main focus was on exploring how old stories have been retold in the modern era. In 2002, he graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture with a Masters Degree in Chinese and Japanese Acupuncture. While there, he also studied CranioSacral Therapy and Toyo Hari style non-insertive acupuncture. He is currently licensed by the Board of Medicine in the state of Massachusetts, and by the National Certification Committee on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Soon after he began Acupuncture school, he met his mentor, Dr. John Myerson, and has been studying shamanic healing with him for the past 10 years. He currently lives in Jerusalem, Israel where he divides his time between making people feel better, playing with his kids, and studying Jewish Mysticism.
